History of Southcott Pty. Ltd.

Southcott Pty Limited was founded in Adelaide, South Australia in 1886 as a general engineering business by two brothers, James and Albert Southcott. Over a century later, the company remains entirely owned by the Southcott family and has expanded extensively around the original factory site, as well as operating Australia wide sales offices and service centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle, Devonport, Emerald and Perth.

Involvement in hydraulics began in 1954 with the design and development of axial piston pumps and motors. The Company remains the only Australian manufacturer of these complex units. State of the art facilities are now provided for hydraulic equipment manufacture, including complex manifold circuits and a wide range of hose coupling swaging machines up to 500 tonne capacity.

Southcott Cycle Division ceased the production of bicycles in the mid nineties due to economic climax and turned their focus on marketing and selling state of the art international brands. Southcott Cycle division now operates from two main distribution warehouses, Adelaide and Melbourne, supplying bicycles and parts and accessories to the independent bicycle shops across Australia.

At Cecil Walker Cycles we try to offer  the best service to you, our customers, at all times. Our staff are friendly,  experienced and dedicated to helping you. After all you cannot win Victorian  Bike Shop of the year 6 times with out trying very hard.

Our  e-commerce store is primarily aimed at the customer who lives interstate or is  not serviced by a good quality bicycle shop, but if you work next door to Cecil  Walker Cycles, and you want to place an order go ahead the freight is always  free.

The Cecil Walker Cycles e-commerce store is only a small part of  what we have to offer, it would be impossible to list our entire store on the  web, if you have been to Cecil Walker Cycles you will know what I mean, for  those cyclists that haven't, we stock more than six thousand different parts and  accessories in our store, and if we tried to list it all on the web it would be  impossible for us to keep it accurate. If there is something that you would like  that you don't find listed please give us a call or email me.

My aim is  to keep the prices accurate at all times and if you place an order over the web  then that is what you pay for it, not a phone call saying it is out of stock or  they have gone up in price.

There are no security problems with ordering  on our web store as it is linked to a secure server, and I am the only person  who has access to this server at all times.

GoPro - This camera is the clear leader in Mini-HD technology. Aside from being a little hard to use due to the complex menu, the footage is broadcast-quality HD. It handles almost all conditions and gives the user multiple quality options in addition to a slow-motion mode.

The waterproof housing (included) is outstanding and audio quality is more than acceptable, and the bulk of the camera/mounting system is a small compromise for the quality it achieves. It’s also approved by MA for use in competition, as it has a designated break-point on the mounting system.

How does SpiderTech work?

How does it work? The tape, made with hypoallergenic acrylic glue, is manufactured to be the same weight, thickness and elasticity as the skin and is therefore able to integrate with the body's sensory system naturally.
