Thrones – The Australian bicycle saddle designed to dutifully serve your royal arse and crown jewels.

Thrones is a performance saddle made for riders seeking the edge for their road bike, tri bike, fixie, track bike, mountain bike, etc.

Our mission is to challenge the fact that bike seats are referred to as saddles.  Saddles are for little guys with squeaky voices who ride horses and need a whip to get it moving.  Saddles aren’t for bikes.

Thrones however are hand crafted for guys that propel their pushies with their legs.  Thrones are designed to make riders feel like a king every time they mount their 2 wheeled machine.

Designed, Refined and tested in Australia.

We believe you’ll agree after riding one of our creations that “bicycle saddle” should be banished from the kingdom’s lexicon and be succeeded with the aptly title of “Thrones.” All Hail Thrones!

For too long cycling specific clothing has been out of sync with the average cyclist’s needs. A predisposition to everything lycra, a swathe of unfashionable colours and patterns and kit covered head to toe in meaningless corporate sponsors is not everyone’s idea of must have clothing for your time on the bike.

Well, at least it's not for us.

Back in 1958 Alfredo Gios, was just eighteen years old, when he started work in the family business founded ten years before by his father, Tolmino, who had been an excellent professional cyclist participating to several important races and having being selected as member of the Italian National Team during the Berlin Olympic Games in 1936.

In the early times, the Gios business activity was mainly linked to the sale of classical models of City bikes. The turning-point of the company came in November 1971, when Alfredo Gios met Mr. Giorgio Perfetti, owner of the world famous chewing-gum brand “Brooklyn”, during a Cycle show in Milan, where Gios was exhibiting the new bicycle model “Easy Rider”. Right after seeing it, Giorgio Perfetti immediately ordered 100 units of this style for a Lucky Draw organized by his company.

The name Ventou is derived from one of the most iconic mountains in cycling history the Mont Ventoux in France. Seen as the pinnacle of cycling around the world our products aim to also meet these lofty heights.

We are not a big corporate company, nor are we owned by a bunch of bean counters hiding in the shadows. We are simply a team of people who are obsessed with art and adventure.

We design, make and sell Headsox for the right reasons and we try to put as much energy back in to the community and the sports we come from and participate in.
