Our Name

The name Ventou is derived from one of the most iconic mountains in cycling history the Mont Ventoux in France. Seen as the pinnacle of cycling around the world our products aim to also meet these lofty heights.

Today Ventou is the leading manufacturer of cycling wear in Australia, and is widely regarded as the clothing industry's leading innovator. Many of the ideas that keep Ventou products on the cutting edge come from the sponsored athletes and our testing team.

Studying, Analysing and Testing

Our research and development team spend countless hours studying and analyzing the movements of the human body and testing all kinds of materials, to develop garments that are cutting edge with one aim in mind: to enable athletes of all abilities to perform better, to reach a higher level and to do it comfortably.

History

For over 15 years, Ventou has been an innovator in the Australian cycling scene. What started as a small material cutting business has grown into an internationally recognized industry leader that specializes in the design and development of technological and market leading products.

Owner Jack Libeson’s love of cycling began as a teenager when he competed at an amateur level in his native Russia. While juggling his cycling career, he trained as a textiles cutter and in the late 1970’s migrated to Australia with his family to begin a new life.

In the mid 90’s Jack noticed a lack of quality cycling gear present in Australia and along with his son Vlad, also a keen cyclist developed his first pair of cycling knicks. Combined with a hand made chamois these knicks soon became popular amongst his friends who were impressed by their comfort and longevity. So popular were Jacks hand made knicks that he began to develop other cycling garments. It was not long before he was unable to keep up with producing these garments himself and decided to manufacturer them on a full time basis. With this Ventou was born.
