Announcing Feather Brakes are now available in Australia
KRJ International Pty Ltd as exclusive importers for Australia and New Zealand are pleased to announce the introduction of Feather Brakes into the Australian market.
Feather Brakes are a relative newcomer to the bicycle brake industry, but they enter with a solid bloodline of ground breaking engineering and quality. The developers/engineers at Feather Brakes who have a long history in the Powerboat, Indy Racing, Motocross and Downhill Mountain Biking fields didnt get into brakes for the aesthetics aiming instead to design and build a product that would provide improved stopping power as compared to any other aftermarket brakes currently available.
These are the latest technology lightweight performance brakes on the market featuring a unique single/dual pivot action utilising a patented Roller Cantilever Arm design to provide optimum stopping power without any additional weight.
A pair of Feather Brakes hit the scales at 199 grams per pair including titanium hardware and a choice of colour accents is also available to round out the package.
This equates to being 73 grams lighter than SRAM Red, 95 grams lighter than Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 and 76 grams lighter than Campagnolo Super Record making them the lightest brakes on the market.
Feather Brakes are CNC machined from special aerospace grade aluminium then Type 2 Class 2 hard anodised. They use only roller bearings in their construction and not brass bushings like many of the other high end products on the market thus providing a smooth and firm action eliminating wear and extra cost needed to replace these in due course.
They have crucial attributes like an orbital pad adjustment for precise alignment, a spring tension/centring adjustment screw, an actuation that is smooth and modulation that is intuitive, these are features some other superlight brakes lack.
If you like light but you do not want to go light on features, these are the brakes for you. There is no sacrifice of performance even with their light weight.
But don't take our word for it; here is what product reviewers have said;
- Bicycle.net put them through over 2,000 miles of rigorous testing in every condition imaginable giving them the 4.5 out of 5 Chain Rings
- Bikerumor.com awarded them a 5 Thumbs Up rating, their highest accolades
- Testrider.com gave them a score of 4.75 out of 5.00.
