Melbourne Events Program

There are a number of events and special exhibits at the Melbourne Ausbike Bicycle Expo.

bmxjamBMX Competition

For the second year in a row the "Colony King of the Jibs" competition will be on Saturday August 20th at 12pm, so get to the show on Saturday if you want to check out some tech street action. The comp is invite only and there are only 25 spots so if you are keen to ride hit up Cooper Brownlee on colony.team@live.com.

There's $1500 prize money for the winner too...

Also thanks to Colony, at this year's show will be the Newcircle Down Under Ground flatland competition. This one is on Sunday August 21st and starts at 12pm. There will be basic, advanced and pro classes and for more info on this contact Shaun Jarvis on shaun@freestylenow.net

Don't forget it is a trade show too so while you're there you can check out all the latest BMX and MTB bikes and parts as well as some sweet lycra gear if you're into that as well...Both 2020BMX Magazine and Revolution magazine have 10 double passes to the show to give away. All you have to do is email them and let them know who won the King of the Jibs comp at last years show to go in the running. Email answers for 2020BMX Mag to tradeshow@2020bmxmag.com.au or to Revolution MTB Mag on show@revolutionmtb.com.au. The winners with each respective magazine will be the first 10 correct answers drawn before the show. Good luck!

Little Peddlers Area

The Little Peddlers Area is designed to get little ones onto bikes. The exhibitors surrounding the area will have products that are specific to young children. Scooters, balance bikes, helmets etc. Bring your kids along and speak with the brand experts and then take your kids for a spin on the Little Peddlers track.

Vintage Bikes DisplayVintage Bicycles Display

While you’re at Ausbike this year take the time to have a look at some of the historically significant phases of the development of the bicycle in our Vintage Bicycle Display area.

‘The Barb’, a ‘Penny’, ‘Tandem Rotary Tricycle’, Early ‘Cross Frame’.

Examples of early Australian made bikes on display will include some iconic names such as ‘Speedwell’ and ‘Malvern Star’ alongside some of the earlier makers such as ‘Bullock’, ‘Lewis’ and ‘Bishop Neville’.

Some fine examples of the bikes we aspired to as kids will also be on display. Great names such as Colnago, Pinarello, Alan, Merckx, Campagnolo, Mavic will all be represented.

This will be a truley inspiring collection of bicycles that are not often found on display as they come from private collections. For anyone with an interest in cycling and bicycles in general this display is a viewing must!
