Tim Marquardt, the Administrative Manager of Groupe Sportif will do an introduction to commuting by bicycle and about choosing the right bike for your needs. Tim is a long term commuter & part time age group triathlete. The builder of odd, exotic bikes & trikes. He has 17 pedal craft in the family property, and a few elsewhere, If he remembers correctly.
'I’ve been using my bike to get around since I had to ride to school 35 years ago. I rode to uni for 4 years. I’ve ridden to work for 20 years. I’ve ridden road bikes, mountain bikes, single speed bikes, flat bar road bikes, recumbents & even wobbled on roller blades to work. So, I hope, I can give you some insight why we should all “Do the Commution” together.'

12:00-12:45 What's the deal with e-bikes?
Electric Bikes are here to stay. They have become a popular choice for commuters, gray nomads, baby boomers, day trippers and yes even the lycra set. The electric bike is all things to all riders. Depending on your reason to ride the electric bike offers assistance to go further, go faster, go higher, or even as a training aid for keen cyclists. But a wrong choice in buying can mean ending up with a product that joins the rest of the clutter in the storage shed.
While simple to operate and maintain, there are a number of key decisions that should be considered when purchasing the right electric bike.
Allan Dow is an Electronics Engineer who turned his +30 years automation experience to electric bikes systems 5 years ago. His original electric drive system appeared on The New Inventors in 2006. Allan’s eLation eLectric Bike won viewer’s choice on the night and was in the 2006 Grand Final.
Allan also has two provisional patents applied for (future designs) and continues to advance not only the elation product range but electric bicycle design in general. Allan also provides educational services to ensure people truly understand the choices available.

There is an ever increasing debate raging between those that promote base endurance training verses those that promote high intensity interval training as the key to unlocking your fitness potential.
David Heatley from Cycling-Inform has spent the last nine years trolling through cycling training data and will present his findings on the matter. He will dispel some of the myths surrounding weight loss, periodisation, base, strength, strength endurance and high intensity training. David will also cover off simple ways to cut wasted inefficient training from your week and reclaim hours back in your life. Want to ride, time trial, climb or sprint faster?

As the number of carbon fibre bikes in the market increases, the issues of how to look after these high performance machines becomes more important. Raoul Luescher, the director of Luescher Teknik Pty Ltd, which designs, manufactures, inspects and repairs composite bikes and components will show you what to look for and how identify damage to a carbon fibre bike component. Raoul will also highlight some common problems, how these can be rectified and dispel some myths on the highest performance material currently used in the bike industry.

Greg Hamer from FOX Racing Shox and Ken Ballhouse from Tekin Suspension will host a session on how to set-up your suspension in order to get the optimal performance from your bike. This will include a run down of what all your adjustments do as well as setting up the shock for your weight, riding style and terrain. A must for all mountain bike owners and riders!

Sports nutrition has moved a long way from merely protein powder to build muscle and now includes nutrition for pre, during and post race. Our exhibitors will shed some light on what they have found out about supporting your bodies whilst working hard. Exhibitors will have products on hand for you to taste as well, because we all want it to taste nice as well as keep our bodies performing.
Matt from Science in Sport will discuss the different health suppliments which will help keep your body performing at it peak, no matter what your goals are.

Electric Bikes, also known as e-bikes, are becoming a more prominant form of transport for Australians. Anthony Clyde heads product development for Wisper Bikes and is the owner of New Zealands largest Electric Bicycle Wholesaler. Anthony will host a session about all the advantages and disadvantages of e-bikes. This session will also include inforamtion on the current laws and how to maintain your e-bike. At the end there will be an open questions and answers session.

- The key elements of online versus traditional marketing; and
- How to compete in a global marketplace.

Bikesportz’ first seminar on the topic is presented by Freddy Keisse, from Augusta-Benelux in Holland. Freddy’s experience in the industry is with BBB parts, clothing and accessories. Whilst BBB may be Freddy’s usual focus, he's also just very interested in Bicycle Retailers investing in "Better Bike Business" principles. These principles can apply to whichever products you present in your store, as it is more about the how and the why, than the what.
Today’s seminar will focus on many aspects of retail design and product display. It will also encourage viewers to consider methods used within the broader scope of the retail industry. Not to be missed.
