AUSBIKE BIKE EXPO (MELBOURNE) - ALREADY SOLD OUT (9.7.10)

After the success of the 2009 trade expo, there were always high expectations for Ausbike 2010. Ausbike 2010 is now 60% bigger than last year as we have sold over 130 stands inside the pavilion building and that’s not even including the outdoor marquees. To have sold out of indoor stands 5 weeks before the expo shows the great support from the bicycle industry and its strength to fight its way back from the economic conditions of late. The Ausbike expo is going to be an exciting show with exhibitors from across Australia and the globe all coming together to show the worlds leading bicycle products. Many of the exhibitors are releasing new and innovative products at the Ausbike Expo which is particularly exciting for such a new expo. The growing trend of cycling in Australia is the big driver of the innovation coming out of the industry and huge interested in the Ausbike Expo by exhibitors, trade visitors and the general public. The interest has been so great that Ausbike Australia will now be holding a second show during 2010. The Brisbane Bike Show is a three day consumer bike expo (no trade entry) celebrating cycling as a lifestyle being held at the Brisbane’s RNA Showground from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th October 2010.

PEDAL POWER AT THE 2010 AUSBIKE BIKE EXPO

Australia’s premier bicycle exhibition expected to be bigger and better than ever.

The 2010 Ausbike Bike Expo is in gear and set to attract up to 10,000 bicycle enthusiasts and trade experts to the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds from 21 – 23 August, 2010. The success of the 2009 exhibition has cemented Ausbike Australia’s position as the nation’s largest and most visited cycling trade expo. Industry and public demand from last year will see the 2010 Bike Expo double its exhibition space to 20,000sqm. With more than 60 percent of exhibition space already booked, the 2010 Ausbike Bike Expo will showcase 170 bicycle distributors and wholesalers. The length of the trade show has also increased to three days with the first exhibition day reserved as a public-only event. Participants will be able to talk to bicycle industry experts, watch demonstrations, listen to seminars and demo 2011 stock. “Australia has a strong cycling culture, with many Australians realizing the economic, environmental and health benefits of bike riding, and the Ausbike Bike Expo is a great way to bring together cycling experts, enthusiasts and investors,” says Simon Head, General Manager of Ausbike Australia. Almost two million Australians are involved in recreational or competitive cycling (ERASS, 2009). In addition, Australia has experienced its ninth consecutive year in which Australians have bought more bicycles than cars (Earth Policy Institute, 2007). “The Ausbike Show has filled an important gap in Australia in showcasing the newest products and providing a valuable meeting and networking opportunity for retailers and wholesalers,” says Rosemarie Speidel, 2009 Director of the Cycling Promotion Fund. Ausbike Australia has also attracted international attention to Australia’s bike industry with investors from Japan, Taiwan, China and Europe showing interest in Australia’s bicycle market.
